# Delete a user

`DELETE /v1/admin/users/{id}`

URL: https://docs.spacerun.co/docs/platform/reference/users/deleteAdminUser

- **Operation ID:** `deleteAdminUser`
- **Tags:** Users
- **Base URL:** `http://localhost:8787`

Soft delete by default (`app.admin_soft_delete_user`, audited). With `hard: true` the account is removed from GoTrue, cascading all user data irreversibly, and audit event `users.hard_delete` is written. Publishes `users.soft_deleted` or `users.hard_deleted`. Takes a JSON body despite being a DELETE.

**Workflow:** [Integration guide](https://docs.spacerun.co/docs/platform/guides/staff-permissions).

**Authentication:** staff Bearer JWT with permission `users.delete`.

## Authentication

- **Auth:** staff Bearer JWT (`Authorization: Bearer <access_token>`) with the permissions below.
- **Required permissions:** `users.delete`
